Dear COMIC 2024 Bowlers,

Thank you again for supporting and bowling in COMIC 2024. We hope you had as much fun as our committee did hosting you!

The week of 06/10/2024, payouts for COMIC 2024 were initiated. Great news! We were able to fund awarding 1:6 and up the total prize fund for the four events (Singles, Doubles, Team, and All Events) to $21,360! Keeping to the COMIC tradition, winners in all four events received $500—that includes $2000 for the winning team!

  • 80 Bowlers (42%) won prize money

  • We started paying at $50 (32nd place in singles/all events, 16th in doubles, 8th in team) and awards went up from there

  • 50 Bowlers (26%) won their entry fee amount or more!

89% of your entry fee was paid out!  The event prize fund of $21,360 is an average of $111 of $125 of each bowler’s entry fee.  We could not have done that, and other costs, such as the banquet/AV, trophies- which James Sorenson made the stained glass and bases, lineage, hospitality suite, registration gifts, and more without the hard work and dedication of our COMIC committee, volunteers, sponsors, and fundraising participants. To make each COMIC special, we fundraise year-round – including the COMIC Crown, Jester, Football Squares, AWOL Jello-shots, local League Mystery Scores, and more.

Payouts for the optional events—Scratch, Senior Handicap, and Scratch Masters - and any unclaimed bracket winnings were also included in the same checks.

  • 109 bowlers participated in the options scratch (payout $2180)

  • 88 entered Scratch Masters (payout for the 5 divisions, $3715) – our first COMIC scratch masters!

  • 79 Entered the three Sr. Handicap Division (payout $1,580)

  • Please note: We noted the breakdown by event in the check memo. The checks are sent from 5/3 Bank, are the size of a postcard, and, unfortunately, look like junk mail, so please keep your eyes out.

With those fundraising efforts and YOUR support throughout the weekend in the variety of raffles, brackets (by event and Mega Bracket), and tips in the Hospitality Suite, in addition to our prize fund, this summer, we will finalize and make a charitable donation to Kaleidoscope Youth Center for over $4000! THANK YOU.

We hope to increase to two shifts again next year. COMIC will again be at HP Lanes, and our host hotel will again be the Crowne Plaza.

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 25 -  Sunday, April 27, 2025!

Have a terrific summer and we will see you next year!

The COMIC 2024 Committee

Congratulations 2024 COMIC Crown winner Mic Queen
